Intro

A Quality Leader with over 14 years of testing industry experience. During this time, I have built test strategies, test plans, automation frameworks, and executed quality initiatives for both internal and external customer facing applications and systems. I am a champion of first time quality and a firm believer in the notion that quality is everyone’s responsibility. My latest position involves driving quality, along with security, into existing application processes through the combined use of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and DevOps cultural principles.

I am committed to continuous learning, the improvement of others, and driven to provide real business value. Looking for ways to use new technologies to help drive success always captures my imagination. I’ve been lucky enough to have worked on projects that are implementing ideas and products that push past previous limits to open up new ways of doing business. That to me is exciting; not simply being told a future vision, but to be actually working with concepts and technologies that expand the possibilities.

I have had opportunities to work on numerous projects involving internally developed systems, along with well-known external systems. Most projects have had distributed architectures in support of a global customer base with more recent ones involving cloud infrastructure utilization, along with the automation of development pipelines in support of DevOps initiatives.

Career

Project: High Availability Infrastructure Testing

• Integrated test manager on QA efforts that required developing test plans, organizing teams, working cross functionally, and executing testing across four development environments.
• Validated metric driven test reports with technical leads and presented high-level summary reports to senior management.

Project: Global File Transfer Solution

• Test lead for the construction of a distributed AWS cloud test framework in order to test reliable and secure data transmissions around the world, which significantly improved international customer satisfaction.

Project: Cloud Infrastructure and Application Deployment

• Implemented quality assurance processes for the deployment of cloud-based solutions to meet enterprise requirements.
• Developed automated VM software deployments and testing across multiple cloud environments.

Project: Citrix Solution for Performance and Mobile Application Delivery

• Led the creation and successful execution of a test plan for deploying a Citrix infrastructure solution that significantly increased end user satisfaction by allowing pilots to view training applications on tablets and smart phones.
• Demonstrated the successful system integration through multiple rounds of customer demonstrations.

• Elicited the test scenarios necessary to develop automated test suites for application teams who had previously relied on manual regression testing, saving hundreds of hours yearly across multiple projects.
• Mentored testers who previously had little experience with automation to be able to run and maintain their own test automation frameworks.

• Lead test engineer that was responsible for improving customer experiences by developing and operating a network performance test framework built around Unified Function Test and Selenium UI automation tools.
• Provided test reports to application owners that detailed global performance metrics, then proactively worked with them to identify solutions before possible trouble areas became actual problems.

Distributed Multi-Company Aircraft Business Solution

• Worked with distributed teams across the US and Canada to perform integration testing that encompassed multiple platforms and systems.
• Defined an integrated test plan that included the development and execution of test cases, the filing and tracking of defects, and the reporting of test results to different levels of management.

Multi-client Real-time Electronic Logbook Solution

• Responsible for end-to-end testing from requirements through successful test execution, including the resolution of all high priority defects in ClearQuest.
• Ensured that all test documentation and procedures were traceable back through high-level requirements in order to achieve software AS9100 certification for deployment onboard 777 and 787 hardware.
• Peer reviewed technical specification documents in order to define accurate and testable requirements.
• Worked highly effectively across team boundaries to engage multiple stakeholders and worked closely with developers to ensure that solutions met requirements.
